ISI’s Geocode capability applies rooftop-precise latitude and longitude coordinates to customer and prospect addresses using data from NAVTEQ — the world’s leading provider of geographic data. These coordinates provide the basis for enriching records with a broad range of valuable location-related data, as well as customer lifestyle and behavior-related data, from third-party sources.
Appending such information as Census Tract, Block Group, Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area (CMSA), and Place, County and State FIPS codes identifies customers by region and neighborhood. This information can be used to enhance nearly any location-sensitive initiative, including targeted sales and marketing programs, new site selection, and accurate application of local sales taxes. Information available from third-party sources includes socio-demographic data, which infers lifestyle based on neighborhood or census unit; psychographic data, which includes information about interests, preferences and buyer behaviors; and firmographic data, which details key business characteristics such as size, payment history, credit standing and cross-board memberships. This expanded customer information can be used to further strengthen target marketing and cross-selling promotions, as well as product distribution, risk management and the extension of credit.
Rooftop coordinates also enable you to visually display customer locations and concentrations, which can be very helpful to financial institutions in complying with Community Reinvestment Act requirements and to insurance companies in preventing over-exposure in disaster-prone areas. For companies performing a merger or acquisition, visually displaying overlapping branch marketing areas can simplify the process of developing an appropriate divestiture proposal to prevent what government authorities may determine to be restraint of trade.
