Innovative Systems Mourns the Loss of Board Chairman

PITTSBURGH, PA – January 30, 2009 – It was with great sadness that Innovative Systems, Inc. (ISI) learned this week of the passing of its Chairman, Thomas V. Fritz, in a tragic auto accident, Sunday, January 25, while visiting Argentina on a charitable mission.

Mr. Fritz joined ISI’s board in 1994 and was elected Board Chairman in 2001. Former Board Director Earl Hord describes Mr. Fritz as a guiding force at ISI.

“From day one, Tom was an invaluable resource to our Board,” said Hord. “His strong leadership and management style were instrumental in helping the company develop in new areas and grow over the years. The relationship Tom had with all the Board members was both professional and personal. I will miss his friendship and I know that the company will miss his steady leadership.”

The associates, officers, and Board of ISI mourn his loss. Bob Colonna, president of Innovative Systems, remembers Mr. Fritz as a principled and honorable colleague and friend. “Tom Fritz was a role model to us all,” stated Colonna. “He was a person who lived life for his faith, his family and service to others. We are witness to how well respected he was by the number of calls and emails we’ve received from associates, friends, and schoolmates expressing sadness at his passing."

Mr. Fritz’s family has asked in lieu of flowers that his memory be honored by donations to Duquesne University, the institution that provided an education to three generations of the Fritz family. Contributions may be made to the Tom Fritz Memorial Fund, Duquesne University, Attention: James Miller, 405 Administration Building. Pittsburgh, PA 15282.
