Press ReleasesInnovative Systems’ Murray Dickman to Speak at 2008 Money Laundering in Canada Conference Presentation will include available options for complying with PEFP and PITTSBURGH, PA – October 17, 2008 - Innovative Systems, Inc. (ISI), a leading global provider of data quality and regulatory compliance solutions, today announced that Murray Dickman, Chief Operating Officer of ISI’s FinScan sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) list screening business line, will be a featured speaker at the 2008 Money Laundering in Canada Conference at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, October 19-21. The annual conference, hosted by About Business Crime Solutions (ABCsolutions), Canada’s leading Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing consulting firm, brings together delegates from an array of industries affected by Canada’s Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA), including banking, insurance, and money services businesses (MSBs). This year’s agenda focuses on recent enhancements to Bill C-25, which impose new risk assessment and Politically Exposed Foreign Persons (PEFPs) screening requirements, and increase the scope of entities required to comply. During his presentation, titled “Managing PEFPs: Lessons Learned So Far,” Mr. Dickman will discuss key challenges associated with PEFP screening and the role that various lists and technology play in reducing organizational risk. “The expanded screening requirements of Bill C-25 represent a substantial operational and administrative burden for many of the affected Canadian firms,” Mr. Dickman said. “I look forward to joining the other speakers in sharing our experiences and insights to help these firms understand just what these requirements mean to their organization. FinScan has participated in this conference in the past and we’ve found it to be a valuable source of concise information on regulatory issues, best practices and technological advances.” Recognizing the unique demands of Bill C-25’s PEFP screening requirements, ISI created a FinScan solution tailored specifically to the needs of Canadian financial, insurance and money services organizations. In addition, ISI recently opened a data center in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, to enable Canadian clients to employ hosted screening without violating Canada’s strict guidelines against sending customer data out or the country.
