Innovative Systems Appoints Ernst & Young
Veteran Thomas V. Fritz Chairman of the Board |
| Pittsburgh, PA - July 30, 2001 - Data quality software provider Innovative Systems, Inc. has appointed Thomas V. Fritz chairman of its board of directors. A 33-year veteran of Ernst & Young, Fritz will assume the chairmanship from Innovative president and CEO Bob Colonna, who will continue to serve as a board member. |
| "Innovative is aggressively moving forward with its plans to continue global expansion and to introduce new technologies as products into the marketplace," said Colonna. "To ensure the success of these initiatives, I thought it was important for the board to have a chairman who could bring an outside viewpoint on where we most need to direct our attention and resources next. Tom was my first choice for the position. With his background in steering large organizations and building coalitions, he brings the high-level expertise and extensive knowledge base that Innovative will need to make significant strides in market share and revenue growth." |
| An Innovative board member since 1994, Fritz offers a wealth of high-tech experience from both the private and public sectors. Among his many achievements, Fritz was instrumental in the merger of Ernst & Whinney and Arthur Young to form Ernst & Young, now one of the world's largest professional services organizations. As vice chairman and a member of the management committee, he provided leadership on multimillion-dollar technology projects for the firm's national and international clientele. |
| In 1992, Fritz was tapped to head the Private Sector Council (PSC), a public service organization created by David Packard to improve the productivity of the federal government. As the group's president and chief executive officer, Fritz facilitated partnerships between the public and private sectors. In 2000, he left the PSC to found his own counseling firm, where he works today. |
| "I am very honored to have been appointed chairman of the Innovative board. This company has been a leader in the data quality software and services arena for over 30 years. In recent years, Innovative has intensified its focus on global growth and has made tremendous investments in developing new technology that will support that growth," said Fritz. "My job as a board member and now as chairman is to help Innovative navigate through the next set of opportunities on the international front and fully realize the vast market potential of this new technology. I am confident that with the talent on Innovative's management team and the strength of the board, we will rapidly achieve our goals." |
| In addition to utilizing Fritz's high-tech experience, Innovative will draw on his background in accounting and law. Fritz is a certified public accountant and has been active in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. After receiving a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, he earned a law degree from Duquesne University School of Law, where he went on to teach for 13 years. Fritz also is a member of the Bar of Pennsylvania. |
| For his professional and community work, Fritz has been recognized with many accolades and awards, including the 1981 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Pittsburgh. |
